Tenant Spotlight: Bag It

Bag It was founded in 2003 by Sherri Romanoski after her mother’s diagnosis of cancer, followed quickly by her own. She wanted to help empower others to become self-advocates and deal actively with the overwhelming fear that results from a cancer diagnosis.

Sherri gathered her family and friends in her kitchen to assemble bags that could help educate, support, and empower those impacted by cancer. Bag It’s materials are designed to conquer fear through information and to empower those with cancer to be more involved in their care and advocate for their best quality of life. Bags are available in English and Spanish through medical providers or you can order one for yourself or loved one at any phase of survivorship.

As Bag It’s team has grown and the need to have an office presence became important, they discovered the Community Foundation Campus. They are very happy to be part of a community where nonprofits can gather to share ideas and connections and as well as have access to a space to work, hold meetings, or host events.
