Tenant Spotlight: Friends of PACC

Friends of PACC is the official nonprofit and philanthropic partner of Pima Animal Care Center (PACC). Its mission is to support PACC and enhance its efforts to save the lives of pets by ensuring that each PACC pet is provided with the resources needed to find a loving home. Friends of PACC works to close gaps in care, programming, and lifesaving resources. “About a third of the pets that come through our doors every year have special medical or behavioral needs. Without the funding and support from the Friends group, we couldn’t save those lives,” said Kristen Hassen, Director of Animal Services at PACC.

Friends of PACC supports several unique projects that address special needs, including Mature Mutts, an initiative that ensures that senior dogs at PACC get the best chance at a happy and healthy life. Other projects include Mission Pawsible, which ensures that mature and under-socialized cats receive enrichment and medical care, and TOP DOGS which is responsible for re-homing dogs with behavioral needs. Pup in Boots is an additional project of Friends of PACC that provides families with basic pet supplies like dog booties, collapsible bowls, kitty litter, food, leashes and more.

Outside of their happy place at the Pima Animal Care Center, Friends of PACC is thrilled to have a home-base at the Community Foundation Campus where they benefit from the timely support, networking and collaboration provided by the campus staff!  To learn more about how to get involved with the lifesaving efforts of Friends of PACC, visit www.friendsofpacc.org
